ZZ plant, snake plant, philodendron, fern, all these plants grow well in a dry and the low light environment. They prefer dry soil so don’t need to worry about watering. 

Zamioculcas or ZZ plant

This easy-going plant drought-tolerate, put up with low light and rarely needs to be fertilized. Growing from rhizomes, it has thick, upright stems bearing narrow, dark-green glossy leaves. The leaves have to keep clean and gently wiped with a soft moist cloth.


Temperature: approximately 60-75F, no lower than 45F.

Light: Bright light is ok, but zamioculcas can grow in a low-level of light.

Watering: Allow the soil to become dry, don’t overwater it.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced fertilizer once a month.

Pruning: Cutaway all leaflets that are turning yellow.

According to the ASPCA, this plant is toxic to cats and dogs. Chewing or ingestion can result in vomiting and diarrhea.

2. Snake plant. Sansevieria.

Snake plant is one of the easiest care foliage plants suitable for office or house. It is an air purifier.

Temperature: Average 60-80F. Light: Direct sun or low light depends on the type. Usually, plants with green leaves need less light than light-colored

Light: Bright to low light. Keep it out of direct sunlight which can scorch its leaves. The plant with green leaves needs less light than a plant with a gold leaf.

Watering: Allow soil to dry between waterings and not to overwater in winter.
